CHRIS WADE, P.ENG.
Chris Wade graduated in 1971 from the University of Calgary with a B.Sc. in civil
engineering. Since 1972, Chris has been with The City of Calgary where he has
held various positions in the areas of roads, Light Rail Transit, bridges and
buildings.
Major design work has included bridges, buildings, reservoirs, pump stations
and other structures. Chris has had extensive hands-on project management experience
including scoping the work to organizing and coordinating teams, and planning
the project from inception to completion.
Other projects in the Calgary area he has managed include the City of Calgary Municipal Building, sections of the Deerfoot Trail, Lindsay Park Sports Centre (Talisman Centre), various Leisure Centres, Calgary Parking Authority Parkades, to name a few
In 2000, he became the Manager of Corporate Engineering responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise on corporate business initiatives that have an engineering, project management and architectural focus. Since 2005, Chris has been Director of Infrastructure Services providing strategy and direction for the Corporation in the areas of Asset Management, Energy Management, Project Management and Industry Relations as well as the University of Calgary - City of Calgary research partnership. He has focused on developing a more sustainable direction for The City of Calgary.
