DAVID J. LAPP, P.ENG.
David graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering from the University of Toronto in 1978. He is presently the Manager, Professional Practice with Engineers Canada and is part of the Secretariat to the Canadian Engineering Qualifications Board.
His work focuses on environment and sustainability issues as they relate to
the practice of engineering. His responsibilities include the implementation
of a national action plan on climate change impact and adaptation, including
a long-term project to evaluate the engineering vulnerability of public infrastructure
to the impacts of climate change. Recently he assumed the role of providing the
Secretariat for the World Federation of Engineering Organizations Standing Committee
on Engineering and the Environment, chaired by Engineers Canada.
