APEGGA's annual Summit Awards celebrated the accomplishments
of Alberta's engineering and geoscience communities in fine
style, during the Annual General Conference in Edmonton. Top
right is one of 15 art exhibits in a show featuring the works
of members and families, and employees of permit-holding companies.
In all, 52 pieces were displayed. "There was a nice cross-section
of work, "said Bronwen Strembiski, public relations coordinator.
All the feedback was very positive."
Bottom right, a young member of the Brady School of Dance
entertains during the April 25 gala. And middle is Dr. Sisso
El-Hamamsy, P.Eng.,accepting the Project Achievement Award
on behalf for Wi-LAN Inc., creator of th BWS 3500 Communications
Project. The award was one of 11 presentations, including
the first-ever APEGGA Alberta Ingenuity Fund Research Excellence
award, which went to Dr. O.P. Malik, P.Eng. of the University
of Calgary.
