REGISTRATION
FOR CORPORATIONS
It is recognized in the Act and Regulations
that effective control of the quality of professional practice
in partnerships, corporations and other such entities requires that the employer
of professionals
provide proper
practice of the
professions.
INTERNATIONALLY
EDUCATED GRADUATES
While you are still abroad (before you
immigrate to Alberta) you may begin the licensing/registration process from your
country of origin. Here you will the forms and information you require to reduce
to proceed before you immigrate
EXAMINATIONS
Professional Practice Exam, NCEES Fundamentals
of Engineering (FE) and Technical Examination information. Here you will find
application forms, dates and deadlines as well as other valuable information.
PERMIT
TO PRACTICE SEMINARS
The issuing of Permits to Practice to practicing
companies is an important element of APEGGA's obligation to regulate the professions.
A seminar is where members can discuss these obligations.
COMPLIANCE
Professional designations must continue
to earn the respect and trust of the public as the Association grows and becomes
more diverse. The
Compliance Department plays a big part in protecting those designations from
misuse.
COMPLAINTS
Any person may file a complaint if an
act or an omission in the carrying out of the work of a practitioner that constitutes
a failure to maintain the standards that a reasonable and prudent practitioner
would maintain in the circumstances
ENVIRONMENT
The Environment
Committee's role is to enhance APEGGA's awareness of environmental issues that
impact the practice of the professions and to provide input on related matters.
DISCIPLINE
The Discipline Committee hears and decides
complaints of unskilled practice and unprofessional conduct against APEGGA members
(individuals and organizations) that are brought before it by the Investigative
Committee.
PRACTICE
STANDARDS
APEGGA provides members and the public with
guidance on the roles and responsibilities of professional members through the
development of guidelines and practice standards and the publication of practice
articles in The PEGG and on line
CONTINUING
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)
On an annual basis,
professional members are required to submit the CPD Annual Reports (page
1 of 2) or Non Practicing Declaration (page
2 of 2) as part of membership renewal
