The
affairs of the Association are managed by Council and the
Executive Director, supplemented by standing boards and committees,
and ad hoc committees and task forces which may be established
by Council from time to time. Five groups - Board of Examiners,
Practice Review Board, Investigative Committee, Discipline
Committee and Appeal Board - are established by The Engineering,
Geological and Geophysical Professions (EGGP) Act. The Enforcement
Review Committee is established under the Regulations. Approximately
20 other boards and standing committees are active, with terms
of reference determined by Council. In addition, APEGGA is
represented on a number of outside organizations and groups.
The
Joint Board of Practice, composed of representatives of APEGGA
and the Alberta Association of Architects, is established
under the Public Works, Supply and Services Act. The APEGGA/ASET
Joint Registration Board and Joint Appeal Board are set up
under the Regulations pursuant to the EGGP Act.
