To facilitate the access to and the delivery of professional development opportunities for members; and to celebrate graduation from Alberta universities and being awarded professional licensure.
FACILITATE PD
APEGGA’s goals with regard to it’s three main audiences are:
1. Professional Members – to enable them to maintain their competence.
2. Members-in-Training – to provide opportunities for them to acquire the additional non-technical skills necessary to become a professional member.
3. University Students – to make them aware of the responsibilities
of being a professional and the role that APEGGA plays; and to support their
activities.
APEGGA will:
1. Provide information to members about other PD providers’ offerings
that are relevant.
2. With the exception of the Professionalism
and Ethics Module for which there was unique expertise resident in the Association,
APEGGA does not wish to develop material from scratch.
3. Focus on business, communications and professional skills of interest
to members. APEGGA does not wish to conflict with providers of technical material.
When interested in providing an opportunity of a technical nature, APEGGA will
remain open to the potential for partnerships with providers that would benefit
both or turn it over to that provider.
4. Price events to cover variable and fixed expenses.
CELEBRATE MILESTONES
APEGGA will:
1. Continue to partner with the universities and the Ring Wardens and Stewards
to celebrate graduation and remind the graduands of the obligations inherent
in being a professional.
2. Continue to celebrate individuals becoming Professional Members and seek
ways to increase attendance.
3. Seek no cost recovery for events that celebrate milestones in members’ careers.
