From the BranchesBY JOHN TAKE, P.ENG. Lethbridge Branch Chair Greetings from the Sunny South, where the hard work of APEGGA members has been in the public eye as of late -- from the 100th anniversary celebrations of the St. Mary River Irrigation Project, to the opening of two world-class french fry plants (Lamb Weston Inc. and McCain Foods Limited), to the construction by the City of Lethbridge of a beautiful pedestrian bridge across the Oldman River. The Lethbridge APEGGA Branch executives and volunteers are busily planning tours to some of these facilities in the coming year, along with our traditional Lunch and Learn noon-hour seminars. The box at right lists just a few of the upcoming events that the branch is currently preparing for: DATE EVENT HIGHLIGHTS The branch is always looking for willing volunteers to help with the
planning and execution of these events, so please contact a member of
the branch executive if you would like to help out. In particular, there
is a current need for volunteers interested in staging the Science Olympics
during National Engineering Week. Please contact the Engineering Week
planning committee chairperson, Adam McDonald (amcdonald@city.lethbridge.ab.ca)
if you are interested. |
