APEGGA members congratulated Summit Award® winners at the annual gala, April 25 at the TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary. More than 800 people attended the gala, which featured official presentations, an art show, speeches and entertainment. Clockwise from top left: Dr. Chan Wirasinghe, P.Eng., Dean of Engineering at the University of Calgary, speaks after accepting the Centennial Leadership Award; master of ceremonies Sue Evison, P.Eng., a past APEGGA president, keeps the proceedings moving; Ron Tenove, P.Eng., outgoing APEGGA president, presents the APEGGA Early Accomplishment Award to Kim Farwell, P.Eng., who was also elected to Council; Annie Dugan demonstrates why she's considered the world's most versatile hula-hoop performer; Mr. Tenove and his wife Pat show off a painting they were presented; and a performer in Flamenco Asi swirls in the stage lights. The full list of Summit Award winners can be viewed here, with further detail on-line in Creating A Better Alberta, the 2002-2003 APEGGA Annual Report.
