N.G. (Nima) Dorjee, P.Eng. Nima Dorjee, P.Eng., is a 1992 graduate in chemical engineering from the University of Calgary, where he now is director of the Engineering Internship Program. Born and raised in a Tibetan refugee settlement in India, Mr. Dorjee immigrated with his family to Canada in 1981. While a U of C student, he served as president of the Student Union and, following graduation, he started EngIT Engineering Services Ltd., to help unemployed engineering students find career-related experience. He has chaired the Canada-Tibet Committee’s Alberta Branch and volunteers at refugee settlements in Northern India. In 1997, he received the YMCA Canada Peace Medal.

S.W. (Shawn) Morrison, P.Eng. Shawn Morrison earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alberta while also working as a process operator with Celanese Canada Ltd. He currently is employed in Calgary by Fluor Daniel Canada Inc. as a senior mechanical engineer in the pressure vessel and piping department. He spent 14 years in Fort McMurray employed by Syncrude Canada. He was active (including a term as chair) in the Fort McMurray APEGGA Branch and currently is the treasurer of the Calgary Branch. He has been active in volleyball and softball, and as a high school science and math tutor. |
Peter Putnam received his B.Sc. in geology from Brock University and obtained his master’s and PhD degrees from the University of Calgary.
He is vice-president and director of Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd. in Calgary. From 1979 to 1985, he worked with Husky Oil Operations Ltd. He has been involved in a variety of technical and managerial upstream activities including exploration and development, evaluations and acquisitions, operations, research, corporate training and strategic planning. Dr. Putnam is a former president of the Canadian
Society of Petroleum Geologists. He is an adjunct professor of geology
at the University of Calgary and has been a guest lecturer at several
other Canadian universities. |
R.P. (Ronald) Triffo, P.Eng. Ron Triffo is chairman of Stantec Inc. He holds a degree in civil engineering (University of Manitoba) and a M.Sc. in engineering (University of Illinois). He worked in municipal government (in Winnipeg and Calgary) and held operating, research and policy positions with the federal government before joining the private sector in 1974. He joined Stantec in 1977, becoming president in 1983. He lives in Edmonton. He is interim chairman of BCT.TELUS and serves on
a number of corporate and non-profit boards, including with NAIT,
the University of Alberta and Junior Achievement. He is a past president
of the Consulting Engineers of Alberta and the Association of Consulting
Engineers of Canada, which last year awarded him the Beaubien Award
for Lifetime Contributions. |
