Why Become a Professional?
The Canadian Council of Professional Engineers has developed a site that
addresses that question. Although it has been developed with engineers
in mind the message is also clear for geoscience students. Click
here.
Professional Start
Courses and seminars are offered in your 4th year
to provide you with a better understanding of the professions, the APEGGA
Code of Ethics and and your future responsibilities as a professional.
There is also a special workshop and luncheon held in conjunction with
the Ring Ceremonies for graduating students that will introduce you to
your future role and responsibilities.
Subscription to The PEGG
As a student member, you will receive a subscription to APEGGA's regular
news publication. The PEGG offers insight into trends, technology, member
news and events in Alberta's engineering and geoscience professions. Click
here for 'The PEGG' online.
Branch Luncheons
Keep current with the events and professionals in your community! The
APEGGA Branch in your area holds regular meetings with a meal and a guest
speaker. APEGGA offers a discounted fee for student members. Click
here for APEGGA Calendar online.
Student Mixers
Meet members-in-training and professional members of APEGGA, as well as
members of local technical societies, at networking events hosted by the
Association. These events will help you keep in touch with what's happening
in the working world, and enable you to meet future contacts and employers.
