Pi-Throw
Monday, February 28 – Friday, March 4
www.ess.ualberta.ca/pithrow
This year the ESS will be holding its third annual Pi-Throw, an event to raise
money for local charity.
Participants pay a fee to send a pie to a friend, peer, professor, co-worker
or anyone else. Engineering students volunteer their time to prepare and deliver
the pies. A recipient may choose to buy the pie, re-direct it for a fee, take
the pie in the face, or not to participate.
This is a fun and amusing way to raise valuable funds for deserving charities.
The ESS ran this event last year and met with phenomenal success, raising over
$2000 for Habitat for Humanity Edmonton. This year the ESS is again going to
raise money for Habitat for Humanity Edmonton and hopes to surpass last year’s
total.
Pie orders will be taken from Monday to Wednesday, with pies delivered Wednesday
through Friday. Companies or individuals hoping to participate are encouraged
to email Adam Henderson, ESS Pi-Throw Coordinator, at pithrow@ess.ualberta.ca
