APEGGA offers 12 scholarships to Alberta high school graduates entering the Faculty of Engineering or the Department of Geology or Geophysics at the University of Alberta or the University of Calgary; or entering other universities or colleges in Alberta offering transfer programs in these disciplines. The scholarships, valued at $3,000 each, are awarded on the basis of a combination of factors. An initial assessment is done on the basis of Grade 12 marks. The top 30 are then evaluated on the basis of extra curricular activities, three letters of reference, financial need and the student's statement outlining the reasons for entering the profession.
