The APEGGA
Education Foundation
Scholarships
The
Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists
of Alberta invests funds annually to acknowledge the academic excellence
of students studying engineering and the geosciences, as well as
to encourage teachers throughout the province who demonstrate exceptional
abilities in the teaching of science and math.
APEGGA and its more than 40,000 members are committed to advancing
the study of science and math at all educational levels. The Association
provides the following support to educators and students in Alberta.

input into the development of math and science curricula

volunteers provide in-class science demonstrations

judges for regional and local science fairs

career counselling information on engineering, geology and geophysics

awards and scholarships

hands-on science teacher workshops
- support
or sponsorship of science competitions like the Edmonton Science
Olympics and the Provincial Odyssey of the Mind Competition
Established
in 1920, The Association serves society by regulating, enhancing
and providing leadership in the practice of the professions in Alberta.
APEGGA also raises awareness of the importance of science and technology,
with an emphasis on the member professions, through its communications
and career counselling activities.
