Image logs have been used to determine the bedding and fracture
orientation for either structural or stratigraphic work. However
the quality of pad type resistivity measurements has been degraded
when oil based muds have been used. Acoustic devices suffer no such
affects. Technical details and interpretation of image and dip data
will be discussed and the advantages and disadvantages of the two
systems will be explored.
