MEDALS


 

The APEGGA Education Foundation provides endowment funds for the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary for the Gold Medals. The universities manage the funds and provide the awards from the proceeds. The medals are awarded to the highest undergraduating average in geology, geophysics and engineering programs accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

APEGGA Medal in Petroleum Engineering
Field of Study: Petroleum Engineering

To be awarded annually to the graduating student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with the highest academic standing in Petroleum Engineering

To be awarded annually to students who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents graduating with the highest academic standing in each of the engineering programs accredited by the Canadian Board of the Council of Professional Engineers (Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Engineering Physics, Mechanical, Materials [metallurgical], Mining and Petroleum) on the basis of academic standing in the third and fourth year combined, which must be no less than 7.5. The University withholds the right of not awarding any of these medals in any given year.

APEGGA Medals in Agriculture Engineering
Field of Study: Agriculture Engineering

Value:

a Sterling Gilt Medal

Number:

10 - One in each Program accredited by the CCPE

Conditions:

Awarded annually to the graduating student with the highest academic standing in each of the engineering programs accredited by the Canadain Accreditation Board of Canadian council of Professional Engineers (chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Mineral Process, Mining, petroleum, Metallurgial, and Agricultural Engineering, Geology, Geophysics and Engineering Physics). The basis of selection will be the academic record of the third and fourth year combined, which must be no less than 7.5. The University withholds the right of not awarding any or all medals.
