TOPIC: The Kyoto Protocol…A Balanced, Informed and Open Public Discussion
The ratification of the Kyoto Protocol by the Federal Government represents the kind of issue that APEGGA members face every day - but on a large scale. The obligations of our governments and of APEGGA members are similar in that we all must protect the public health, safety and welfare; and the environment. As such, we have to balance the various interests of the public in making decisions. On the one hand the public wants economic prosperity and on the other hand the public wants to ensure that ongoing generations have the quality of life that we have enjoyed. Listen to those who favour and oppose the agreement; and to potential alternatives. Form your own opinions. Voice your opinions.
Your opinion can shape the opinion within your companies, so make sure you have the best information available.
To ensure adequate seating please pre-register with the Calgary APEGGA office at 262-7714 before Friday, November 8, 2002. The Calgary Branch now accepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express for tickets sold prior to the day of the event.
