TOPIC: Reporting of International Reserves: Impact of Fiscal Regime Terms

The estimation and tracking of reserves and resources is fundamental to an oil and gas company's success. International operations add a significant degree of complexity to the reserves booking process - exemplified by the often unique and dynamic interpretation and/or application of contract terms.

This session will thoroughly analyze the effects of diverse international fiscal regime types on reserves reporting. You will learn how to manage typical tradeoffs, for example, evaluating the impact of price sensitivity and negotiation positions on reserves vs. value. Real world examples will be featured.

Specific topics will include:

- Review of Concessionary vs. Production Sharing Contracts (PSC) terms
- Review of typical PSCs and how they effect reserves and value
- Impact of PSC economics
- Negotiating effective terms
- Booking of tax barrels
- Global fiscal regime highlights

Pre-Registration and advance payments are required. Seating is limited and registrations will be dealt with on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please call the Calgary APEGGA office at 262-7714 to register before Friday, September 24, 2004. The Calgary Branch accepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
