Dickson Dam tour May 26, 2004
With the increasing awareness of our limited supply of water and increasing pressures of competing uses, there is a growing reliance on stored water. Dickson Dam, located 20 kilometres west of Innisfail on the Red Deer River, was built in 1983 to assure water supply throughout the year to the several communities, provide improved instream water quality, provide some flood control and power generation, as well as create recreation activities on Glennifer Reservoir.
On May 26, 2004, we will have the opportunity to tour the site and learn about its operation.
