The
Department of Civil Engineering Technology in the Faculty
of Engineering Technologies requires an Assistant Professor
to conduct teaching and research in the two-year Civil Engineering

The
preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer
or Applied Science Technologist with a Ph.D. or Master's
degree in Civil Engineering, instructional experience at
a post-secondary level, and a minimum of five years of relevant
industrial experience. Candidates without a graduate degree
may be considered if they can demonstrate significant industrial
and post-secondary teaching experience and relevant scholarly
activity. The successful candidate will be committed to
teaching excellence and teamwork, and will be keen to play
an active role in the development of engineering programming
at Okanagan University College. Demonstrated research capability
will also be an asset, as will the desire and ability to
contribute to interdisciplinary research teams in technology
and applied science.

This
is a probationary, tenure-track appointment effective July
2, 2003. Please note: This position is subject to final
budgetary approval. Salary and working conditions are governed
by the Okanagan University College Faculty Association Collective
Agreement. Placement on the salary grid is dependent upon
qualifications and experience.
