BRANCH
ACTIVITIES
· Branch executives met in March to discuss upcoming events and
Business Plan developments
· On Feb 11th, we attended the Career Fair and although it occurred
during the Teacher's strike, there were many students inquiring about
Engineering.
· On Feb 26th, there was a Technical talk on Eco Industrial Solutions
- Developing plans to look at ways to reduce waste at Industrial Parks
by reusing different company's waste by products. About 30 people attended
with a good mix from City employees, ASET and APEGGA members
· March 6th was the president's visit. After a lunch with the Swan
City Rotary club, we had the Annual Steak and Lobster event. Approximately
45 people attended including dignitaries. We had 1 inductee there.
· March 7th, the President went to Peace River where he met with
Engineers from DMI prior to the Luncheon. Good discussions occurred there.
The Luncheon had about 20 people and there were 2 inductees. Unfortunately,
the Teacher Award recipient was not able to attend due to the Teacher's
conference
· A Student Night/Job shadow occurred on March 28th with full attendance
by the GPRC Engineering students. About 12 Members also attended
UPCOMING
EVENTS
· May 16th the Peace River Branch will be having their AGM, with
subsequent Executive meetings to follow.
· We are planning a PD Day end of May/beginning of June with 4
topics and a lunch
· July 13th, there will be the first Joint golf tournament with
ASET at Pipestone Creek
