BRANCH
ACTIVITY REPORT TO COUNCIL
The Medicine
Hat Branch has been fairly active in the last few months, planning
new types of activities to try and encourage participation from a
larger segment of the membership and co-hosting as a means of sharing
the cost and effort.
Branch
Activities:
- A Family
BBQ and Observatory viewing for APEGGA members and their families
was held at the Sunridge Observatory on 24th, rescheduled
from the original date of May 3rd. The event was a great
success with over 65 members and guests in attendance. The consensus
is to include a family event every year in our repertoire of activities
if possible.
- The
APEGGA Teacher Award for this year has been selected as Ms. Shannon
Tannant of Duchess School. A presentation has been scheduled for the
end of June with a celebration luncheon to follow.
- Final
plans are underway for the Annual APEGGA/ASET Golf Tournament scheduled
for Aug. 17th. This event is always popular and requires
a great deal of planning and work on the part of the executive.
- The
final Branch Executive meeting is scheduled for June 17th
before breaking for the summer. Plans for the Annual Golf Tournament
and budget preparation are on the agenda.
- Mr.
Keith Crush from the City of Medicine Hat Economic Development Department
will be making a technical presentation on Wednesday, June 19th.
Upcoming
Activities:
- A branch
executive meeting will be scheduled for September to plan the fall
lineup of activities.
- The
branch has tentatively scheduled a plant tour for October to be held
jointly with ASET.
- A technical
evening is tentatively scheduled for November. Presentation topic
to be along the lines of current technology used in the geotechnic
field.
