Since the last APEGGA Council Meeting, the

have taken place in the Calgary Branch.

Branch Meeting & Lunch
- March 21, 2002, Fairmont Palliser Hotel:
Lunch. Speaker: Dave Chalcroft, P.Eng., presented "RedR - Engineers
Providing Disaster Relief Services". This is a non-profit organization
which involves Canadian engineers in disaster relief, and to raise the
profile of the engineering profession.
Iron Ring Workshop & Ceremony
APEGGA Volunteers participated at this
event on March 23, 2002.

Gas and Microturbines" regarding the City of Calgary's landfill gas
collection and utilization project.

Special Events
- Saturday, April 13: "Flames Night".
APEGGA is a corporate sponsor of the Calgary Flames hockey game and
has preferential seating for members. This night is also "Fan Appreciation
Night".
- May 29, 2002, "Collapse of the World
Trade Center", speaker: Dr. Venkatesh Kodur. The only non-American scientist
commissioned by the American government to study the collapse of the
WTC will be presenting his findings at the Telus Convention Centre in
Calgary on May 29, 2002. Presentation to take place in the evening,
dinner to be served.
- Calgary Branch Golf Tournament. Tentatively
set for week of September 9, 2002 at Lynx Ridge Golf and Country Club.
