The Practice Review Board (PRB) is a statutory committee. The Board’s
terms of reference flow from the Act as well as the General Regulation under
the Act. Council has established additional terms of reference that
outline its expectations of the Board and that, to a certain extent, guide the
Board's general operation and structure. The Board's main purpose is to
maintain APEGGA procedures in areas of registration, discipline, maintenance
of competence, and enforcement regarding their adequacy to protect the public
interest; and review member practices that may not be in the public interest.
On its own initiative or at the request of Council, reporting to Council thereon, the Board may undertake the following:
Conduct practice reviews of permit holders and professional members. These reviews may be wholly random or random within a specific industry or sector.
Conduct inquiries.
Assess reinstatement and resumption applications.
Administer the Continuing Professional Development Program.
