Memorandum of Understanding, Discussion Paper
and Joint Town Hall
Meeting on new Regulatory Model
The ASET Council and the APEGGA Council each today unanimously approved a
Memorandum of Understanding regarding a proposed new One Act, Two Associations
regulatory model.
Members of ASET and APEGGA are invited to review the Memorandum
of Understanding and the Discussion
Paper (available online at www.aset.ab.ca or www.apegga.org)
and provide feedback via the website or by email. In addition, members of both
Associations are invited to participate in a joint Town Hall meeting scheduled
for February 6, 2007.
The Town Hall meeting will include a joint ASET-APEGGA presentation followed
by a question and answer session. The six members of the ASET and APEGGA discussion
team will be available to answer your questions and receive your feedback on
the new regulatory model. Government-appointed discussion team mediator David
Jones, Q.C. will act as the Town Hall moderator.
The event will be live in Edmonton. Two-way audio-visual will allow members
of both Associations to participate directly in the following communities: Calgary,
Cold Lake, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Lloydminster, Medicine
Hat, Peace River and Red Deer.
Members unable to attend the Town Hall event in their community may view the
event online and may submit questions directly to the moderator by email.
Members at the ten Town Hall locations will be given opportunities to ask
questions of the discussion team members.
