Ramzi
Fawaz has more than 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry in a wide
range of roles in Royal Dutch / Shell GroupUpstream, Downstream, and Gas & LNG
businesses. His main field of experience is in engineering and large project
management.
Ramzi graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1976 with an M.Sc. degree in Power Engineering. He joined Shell in 1980 as an electrical engineer and worked in a variety of roles in Oman, Japan, Australia, and in the Netherlands. In 1995 he was appointed Chief Engineer responsible for maintenance and projects in Brunei LNG. Ramzi moved to the UK in 1998 to become the Engineering Team Manager on the Nigeria LNG 3rd Train Expansion Project (US$ 1.5 B), and relocated in 2001 to Bonny Nigeria as the Construction Manager and completed the 3rd Train Expansion Project on time and within budget April 2003.
In 2003 Ramzi was seconded to Shell Canada Limited as the General Manager of large projects in its Oil Sands Business Unit and promoted to Vice President Projects in 2006 where he currently leads the next phase of the AOSP Expansion and other Oil Sands Growth Projects. Ramzi chairs Shell Canada’s Project Management Council and is a Board Member of the Construction Owners Association of Alberta.
