10:00 - 11:00 am: Can you tell the
difference between a genuine antique and
a reproduction? Get pointers on how to distinguish
between antiques and collectibles, and on
reproductions of antiques, the real thing,
and how to know the difference. Presenter
Neil McMullen will also discuss how to identify
the different editions of a book. Mr. McMullen,
a principal at 10th Avenue Antiques store,
has been collecting since he was 19 years
old . He also taught school for 30+ years,
and has instructed continuing education
classes on antiques and collectibles for
the Calgary Board of Education. Dress code:
Casual. Please wear comfortable walking
shoes.

Following the antiques presentation, enjoy
a leisurely lunch at Deane House. Named
after Captain Richard Burton Deane, the
superintendent of Fort Calgary who resided
there from 1906-1914, the Deane House is
a registered provincial historic site.
1:00 -3:00 pm: Browsing through
the Inglewood neighbourhood (guests only)
Browse through some of the trendy Inglewood
area's numerous antique and collectibles
shops. Additionally you can choose from
other unique shops offering consignment
apparel or custom furniture.

10:00 am - noon: As Western Canada's
largest museum, the Glenbow boasts over
93,000 square feet of exhibition space,
spread over three floors. Enjoy a guided
tour of the Canvas of War: Painting the
Canadian Experience, 1914-1946 exhibit.
This exhibit highlights the important art
documenting the efforts of Canadian artists
who served in the First and Second World
Wars. Then join a Blackfoot Indian guide
for a cultural journey through the Blackfoot
Gallery. With over 20 galleries filled with
artifacts from Glenbow's collection in excess
of one million objects, you may just have
to come back to see some of the other exhibits!
Follow up with lunch at Catch Restaurant,
Calgary's acclaimed new seafood restaurant/oyster
bar. Find out why Calgarians are hooked
on this restaurant, whose award-winning
chef was the first Canadian to appear on
the Iron Chef.
