COUNCIL APPROVES APPLICATION FEE INCREASE
– Effective January 4, 2016, APEGA's application fees will be increased for individuals applying for Professional Member, Professional Licensee, Licensee, and for those transferring their designation from another Canadian province or territory.

CHANGES TO PROCESSING INTERNATIONAL TRANSCRIPTS
– Starting January 14, 2016, Internationally Trained Applicants must contact an academic-assessment agency to obtain a Canadian equivalency of their educational transcripts.

– Effective December 1, 2015, any applicant documentation APEGA receives that is not linked to a current, paid-in-full application will be destroyed after 90 days.

FORMER APEGA PRESIDENT CLEARED –
An APEGA investigation has found no evidence of unprofessional practice by Jim Gilliland, P.Eng., or Williams Engineering. The Court of Queen's Bench, meanwhile, has also exonerated the engineering firm. After provincial court findings against the company last November, Mr. Gilliland, a principal with Williams, resigned as President over a potential conflict of interest.

CHANGES TO THE NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXAM
– The NPPE is moving to a computer-based format, which will result in many benefits for applicants. A sample exam is available to help prepare for the NPPE. The deadline to register for the last paper exam was June 1.
